Happy New Year, Children

So, we’re all awaiting word on an early dismissal today at the office.

The uber manager took off at noon, leaving one of her lieutenants in charge.

We figured the anticipated work release would be issued momentarily. It was.

All—
Plan on a 3PM departure if:

VA SOA – changes made (Beatriz)
Rock Island – Gold Team Book Ready (Elvira) – 2 copies printed
Antwahn’s Production – 200 binders prepared (Shell and Richard)

ALL must be done by 3:00 for the early departure by the entire Team. If not done by 3:00, we ALL stay until ALL things are complete. Thanks.

Got that? If one of you kids doesn’t eat your meat, then none of you gets pudding.

Detroit Holds America Hostage

So Bush decided to toss more than $17 billion to GM and Chrysler after all. This, after Congress in a rare display of wisdom, refused to do so in the absence of a viable restructuring plan from the automakers.

Remember when the auto CEOs, after their first to Capitol Hill, were told to go home, come up with a plan, and then return to Congress so there could be a serious discussion. They came back with zilch.

So their strategy was to simply scare the shit out of everyone with their talk of millions of job losses, retirees losing their pensions and health care, and so forth.

It worked. And they get the money without a plan. They have until the end of March to develop one. Can you imagine a bank granting a loan to a new business in the absence of a business plan?

To borrow an antiwar slogan from the 60s . . .

What if he gave a speech and no one came?

President Bush is thinking about giving a farewell speech in which he will “share the lessons of his eight-year term.”Whatever BS he chooses to impart will be part of his final official attempt to rewrite history, the last shot fired from the White House to shore up the “Bush Legacy Project.”

If the MPAA were to rate this production, it would classify it as “may not be suitable for young children.”
